Young Christian Authors is a unique writing/discipleship ministry whose heart is to encourage the next generation of WordLovers.  

In 1995 I wrote a manuscript that would later become The Palomino, book one of The Sonrise Farm Series. I was not certain what to do with it so it languished inside my computer. I printed it, sent it out, to a publisher, got rejected, let it languish, printed it, sent it out, got rejected ... you get the picture. In 1998 I entered  a contest through a local writer's group. My manuscript won first prize and I got my picture taken with a famous syndicated coulumnist whose name I can't remember. While I don't remember the columnist, I sure remember winning the contest. The win propelled me to persist until I found a home for the book, which turned into a contract for four books.

The purpose for Young Christian Authors is to engage the hearts of  young adults who yearn to be published. Quarterly contests,online classes, and conferences will provide motivation, education, networking, and professional opportunities.

WordLovers Magazine will provide opportunities to enter into the submission/editorial process. The magazine will be written by young Christians, for young Christians. As a writer for WordLovers you can interview authors, conduct research, learn how to write a query letter, and proposal, learn how to work with an editor, learn to edit your own work... all valuable skills as you unleash your talent upon the world.
